Despues de varios meses de la salida de los últimos lps en solitario de Ghost y Rae y tras el tema “New Wu” perteneciente al lp de este ultimo, Meth Rae y Ghost se ponen manos a la obra en un lp en conjunto y sacan este “Wu Massacre” tras retrasar su salida en un par de ocasiones.
Lo primero que sorprende es su portada, al más puro estilo comic de superheroes (y con 3 ediciones limitadas con cada superheroe por separado). Lo siguiente que nos sorprende es que es un lp corto, poco más de 30 min repartido en 10 temas y 2 skits.
Le damos al play en nuestro soporte preferido y suena “Criminology 2.5″ y Ghost primero hablando y después rapeando sobre un beat de corte clásico con regusto Wu-Forever producido por un -desconocido- BT. En este caso es un mano a mano entre Ghost y Meth, para a continuación deleitarnos a base de un beat basado en vientos y cuerdas de manos de Mathematics, que produce la mayoría del lp, y un duelo de Meth vs Chef. Primera pausa para coger aire y Smooth Sailing Remix es el primer tema del lp con colabos al micro (feat. Solomon Childs & Streetlife) y el primer beat que a mi personalmente se me hace cansino y con poco gancho. Perdonamos este album filler porque el siguiente tema es el que han usado de video-single “Our Dreams” con RZA detrás, un beat un tanto simple pero a su vez efectivo para los 3 mcs y con un hook con pegada. El siguiente tema (Gunshowers) es puro Wu, junto a Inspectah Deck y Sun God. Pasamos la mitad del lp con Dangerous, de nuevo Mathematics aporta un ritmo excelente y los mcs no desmerecen a éste, siendo uno de los temas más destacables del disco. Escuchar los primeros compases del siguiente tema “Pimpin’ Chipp” marca identidad para un solo de Ghostface. Pasamos el interludio para encarar el final del lp y el siguiente tema es “Miranda” otro de esos temas que por quiza un beat demasiado repetitivo me hace que ignore el rapeo de Chef (que es quien abre el tema) y le de al siguiente tema “Youngstown Heist”, un señor banger con un ritmo lento y tosco para que te compres vertebras cervicales nuevas. Cierra el lp “It’s That Wu Shit” con un beat nuevo con guiño clásico que los 3 mcs se encargan de honrar. En lineas generales, un buen lp para los seguidores de Wu o de estos 3 componentes en particular, un lp necesario entre tantos trabajos trendys, pero quizá un lp un tanto corto y con demasiados temas de relleno en relación a la cantidad de temas del tracklist.
