De la factoria Duck Down nos llega este combo, esta vez Marco Polo (que le está cogiendo el gusto a esto de los duos productor<> mc, ya que hizo lo propio junto a Torae con su “Double Barrel”) esta vez con Ruste Juxx y cocinan este “The Exxecution”. El lp del productor canadiense afincado en Nueva York y el mc de Brooklyn lo definen como una ejecución de mcs y productores flojos. 12 cortes de hip hop hardcore, sin concesiones, bombo caja bajo sample… nos transporta a una época donde no había polémicas por cómo hacías música ni para qué auditorio, sólo era música.
En el lp nos encontramos scratches por parte de Dj Revolution y colaboraciones de compañeros de sello como Rock de Heltah Skeltah, Blackmoon, Sean Price, y Freddie Foxxx. Cabe destacar la promo previa al lp (soltaron 13 video-freestyles que se pueden ver en el canal de youtube de Duck down) en incluso el “cómo se hizo” de un tema con Marco Polo dándole duro a su mpc 2000xl.
Como podéis imaginar, este lp es recomendable para los enamorados de la esencia 90’s de la costa este e ignorable para los que vean esto como cosa del pasado. En líneas generales es un buen lp (buenos beats, buenos rapeos) aunque no tenga ningún tema que acabe enganchando del todo.
